Waterford gives back with a special treat for World Teacher’s Day

October 21, 2024

The first 50 teachers who visit Chisholm cafe The Kitchen on Friday will get a free coffee in celebration of World Teacher’s Day.

Waterford by AVID Property Group has teamed up with the on-site cafe for the initiative.

AVID NSW project director Danny Boubli said the group is hoping to see lots of local teachers taking up this offer on their way to work on Friday, October 25.

“School holidays have recently ended and teachers across the country are onto the final term for the year, so we hope this is a chance for them to enjoy a nice morning coffee with their colleagues,” he said.

To redeem the free coffee, the first 50 teachers can flash their staff identification card at The Kitchen at Waterford which will be open from 7am to 2pm.

Mr Boubli said it is important to make an effort, whether it be big or small to recognise the incredible impact teachers have on the next generation of Maitland locals.

“Waterford is a hub for families, with many of our youngest residents attending the five schools and early learning centres all located within our neighbourhood,” he said.

“There are over 170,000 teachers across the state and this day is a wonderful opportunity to shine a light on these inspiring members of our community.”

St Bede’s Catholic College, St Aloysius Catholic Primary School, and Thornton Public School are a few of the schools close by to The Kitchen.

The Kitchen at Waterford owner Carolyn McIntyre said they are calling on the broader community to spread the word.

“If you know a teacher who would benefit from a delicious pick-me-up, get them to stop by The Kitchen early to make sure they don’t miss out,” she said.

“We are so excited to celebrate this day for all the teachers in our area.”
