At Waterford, community spirit is our foundation.
Located within the scenic lower Hunter Valley region, the neighbourhood offers natural beauty and countryside charm, featuring hectares of greenspaces, kilometres of walking trails, and a network of waterways. Throughout each year, the Waterford community gathers to share quality time and celebrate residents new and old. Long running and much-loved events like the Easter Scramble, Christmas Carols, and Sunday Sessions bring residents together to share stories, make connections, and have some fun.
As the community has grown, so too have the range of events and traditions held each year. The Waterford Home Show and Gardening Workshops have brought celebrity guests to the Hunter and given our residents practical tips to make the most of their beautiful addresses.
Another hub for togetherness is Waterford’s on-site café ‘The Kitchen at Waterford’. With local legend Carolyn McIntyre (renowned from Lady Blackbird Bakery) at the helm, this community-favourite is a delicious haven for neighbourhood catch ups and morning coffee runs.

Focused on togetherness
Fostering a strong, connected community is a priority for AVID’s Waterford team. Through exciting initiatives and memorable events, the AVID team work hard to create opportunities for residents to connect, engage in meaningful conversations, and build lasting friendships with their neighbours.
Waterford’s community initiative also plays a vital role in strengthening ties between residents and the broader Chisholm community, including local clubs and organizations that are the heart of our neighbourhood. A key part of this effort is the Sponsorship and Grants program, which supports the local community while investing in the region’s growth.

Christmas Lights Competition
Calling all Waterford and Harvest residents! We will be holding a Christmas Lights competition and we would love for you to participate to make Waterford and Harvest shine!
Do you have what it takes to make your house a winner? There will be 3 fantastic prizes on offer to the winning residents. Simply register your details and decorate your house in lights and/or festive decorations.
Please make sure you have your lights on for judging between 7.30pm – 9.30pm from Monday 9 December to Friday 13 December 2024. A mystery judge will be observing all registered homes between these dates. The winners will be announced at the Christmas Carols event.
PRIZES
First prize: $500 Prezzee Gift Card
Second prize: $250 Prezzee Gift Card
Third prize: $150 Prezzee Gift Card

Thornton Fire Brigade Santa run at Waterford
Santa is ‘trading in’ the traditional sleigh for a big red truck to spread the cheer this Christmas along with the Thornton Fire Brigade. The team will be riding through select Waterford streets so make sure to pick a spot to cheer them on, take a photo with Santa and collect your free festive treats!

Giving back to those in need
Waterford has teamed up with the Salvation Army and we will be collecting non-perishable food items and kids’ Christmas gifts for their Christmas Appeal.
Please bring a gift to place under the Waterford Christmas tree by Saturday 14 December. A gift selection list will be available from the Waterford Sales Centre specifically provided by The Salvation Army to cater for the people in need within the local area.

Letters to Santa
We know that everyone in Waterford has made it onto the nice list this year, so if you want to make sure that Santa knows what to pack in his sack come Christmas eve, make sure to write him a letter!
All our littlest Waterford residents can put their letter of wishes into the Christmas letterbox at the Sales and Information Centre before they make their long journey to the North Pole.
The Sales & Information Centre will be closing on the 20th December so be sure to get in quick!
Fitness Bootcamp: Waterford x Lifestyle Performance
Struggling to stay active on these chilly winter mornings? Skip the drive and stay warm close to home!
We’re thrilled to announce that Lifestyle Performance Thornton is bringing group fitness sessions right here to Waterford. It’s your chance to stay fit, have fun, and beat the winter slump—together!
On Monday and Thursday mornings at 10am, the Lifestyle Performance team will be running fitness sessions outside the Sales and Information Centre, and all ages and skill levels are more than welcome.
Cost:
$15 per session for 1 session per week
$10 per session for 2 sessions per week
FREE 3rd session at Lifestyle Performance
Upon signing up, please specify your name, contact number and your preferred day and session time.
Expressions of interest are essential.

Mother’s Day Drawing Competition 2026
Calling all Waterford families! 💐 RESIDENTS ONLY.
Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and we’ve got a fun way for the kids to get creative while celebrating Mum.
We’re hosting a “Draw Your Mum” Competition, and we’d love for your little artists to take part. Not only will they create something special for Mum, but they’ll also go in the draw to WIN her a relaxing Endota Spa gift voucher.
